FAQs
The standard Racumin range uses Coumatetralyl, a first-generation anticoagulant. It works through a "multi-dose" action, meaning rodents must feed on the bait over several days to accumulate a lethal dose. This prevents "bait shyness," as rodents don't immediately feel ill and won't warn others in the colony to avoid the bait.
While standard Racumin is a multi-dose bait, Racumin Sure uses Bromadiolone (0.005%), which acts as a single-dose rodenticide, often providing faster results for heavy infestations.
Rodents typically die within 3 to 8 days after they begin feeding on the bait. It is important to keep the bait stations replenished during this time to ensure the entire colony is controlled.
Place bait in areas where you see high activity, such as droppings, gnaw marks, or runways. Always use secure, tamper-resistant bait stations to protect children, pets, and other non-target animals.
Coumatetralyl (in standard Racumin) is metabolized faster than many other rodenticides, which reduces the risk of secondary poisoning to pets or owls that might catch a poisoned rodent. However, all rodenticides should be handled with care. In case of accidental ingestion by a pet or human, the antidote is Vitamin K1.
- For Rats: Place 1–2 blocks or sachets at intervals of 5 to 9 meters.
- For Mice: Place 1 block or sachet at intervals of 2 to 3 meters.
Continue baiting for at least 2 weeks or until you notice that the bait is no longer being eaten.
Yes, Racumin Wax Blocks and Paste are designed for both indoor and outdoor use around buildings. Racumin Foam, however, is strictly for indoor use only.
If the bait is no longer being consumed and you still see activity, try moving the bait stations to new locations or ensure there are no other competing food sources (like open trash bins or pet food) available to the rodents.
